Providing a tangible expression of God’s love and giving comfort to cancer patients and their families is the mission of the Angel Quilt ministry.
The ministry began at Williams Memorial in 2001. Since that time Williams Memorial along with First Baptist, First Presbyterian and Trinity Baptist have made and distributed over 3500 quilts to cancer patients in the area. Many prayers go with these quilts as the quilters are asked to pray over whatever part of the quilt they are working on even if it is just ironing. This group is open to anyone, church member or not, who have a desire to practice (or learn) this art. No quilting or sewing experience is necessary. Sewing machines, cutting boards, scissors, etc. are provided at the church. Some quilters take projects home while others only work at the church. We invite you to join our efforts. Angel Quilt ministry at Williams meets in Room 218 (New Beginnings Classroom), Tuesdays, 1-4 p.m.
